Your care experience
Many women experience pelvic health issues for years, often thinking they’re a normal part of life. Embarrassment or uncertainty can make it hard to seek help—but effective treatments are available. We understand that pelvic health can feel personal and intimate, and we always treat every patient with respect and dignity.
Your visit
What to expect
Before your initial appointment, you’ll be asked to complete a registration form detailing your symptoms, medical history and goals. Gathering this information in advance allows more time during your session for discussion, assessment and treatment.
Your first appointment begins with a detailed discussion about your symptoms, health history, lifestyle and personal goals.
Following this, a physical assessment will be carried out to help identify contributing factors, understand what’s happening and how to best support you. This may include a pelvic floor examination (externally or internally) as well as assessment of posture, breathing patterns and functional movements related to pelvic health.
Your comfort, privacy, and consent are prioritised throughout every stage of the assessment, ensuring you feel supported, and in control at all times.
Treatment
Following assessment, we will create a personalised treatment plan designed around your goals and lifestyle. A key part of this process is education – helping you understand your symptoms, what’s contributing to them and how to manage or prevent them long term.
Your plan may also include:
-
Pelvic floor muscle and core retraining
-
Gentle manual therapy and other modalities e.g. taping
-
Lifestyle and movement advice
-
Pilates based or functional exercise programs
-
Guidance on returning to the activities you love
All sessions are delivered in a private, supportive and judgement-free environment – giving you the space to talk openly and work at your own pace.
Follow-up sessions provide ongoing support as you progress through your treatment plan. These appointments allow time to review your symptoms, progress your exercises and adapt your plan as needed to help you reach your goals.
The number of follow-up sessions you’ll benefit from depends on the level of treatment required and your individual response – this will be discussed and explained clearly during your initial appointment.
Chaperone Policy
At GLO Physio, we prioritise your comfort, dignity, and privacy. All clients have the option to have a chaperone present during appointments. Your chaperone can be a family member or friend. If you need a formal chaperone, please notify us in advance. In case a formal chaperone is unavailable, we may need to reschedule your appointment.
